Project management

Projects are where collaboration on specifications is organized. This page explains how to manage projects and how to use the new project membership functionality.

info

Project management is intended for community maintainers and administrators who manage project settings and member access.

Project list

Open Projects from the left-side menu to see all projects.

The list shows each project's:

  • Name
  • Order
  • Visibility (public or not)
  • Owning group or account

From this list, you can create, edit, or delete projects.

Create or edit a project

Use Add project to create a new project, or use the edit action on an existing project.

The project form lets you manage:

  • Name: human-readable name of the project.
  • Order: display order in overviews.
  • Is public: whether the project is visible to all users.
  • Group: group that owns this project.
  • Account: account that owns this project.

Manage project memberships

The Members section in the project form is where the new project membership functionality is available.

Add a project member

  1. Open an existing project.
  2. In Members, use Add representative.
  3. Select a representative to create a project membership.

Only representatives with a linked user account can be added as project members.

Assign roles within a project

Each project membership contains its own list of roles.

  1. In the member row, use Add role to grant a role.
  2. Use the remove action next to a role to revoke it.

This allows you to manage permissions per project, instead of applying the same permissions to all projects.

Remove a project member

Use the remove action in the member row to remove the membership from the project.
